OSLO KAMMERAKADEMI
Oslo Kammerakademi is an ensemble that performs primarily chamber music for winds, with emphasis on the historic harmony music ensemble. This is a new ensemble with some of the most exciting principal wind players in Norway. The ensemble uses historical brass instruments for the classical repertoire to lend both authenticity and transparency to the sound of the ensemble. This gives the musicians the capability of successfully performing from an historically-informed perspective.
Oslo Kammerakademi's goal is to enhance the tradition of chamber music with historically correct interpretations and a clear artistic profile of the highest level. The ensemble will also invite composers to contribute by profiling the importance of winds in chamber music through newly commissioned works. The ensemble will be a forum for musical experiences which both entertain and give a deeper understanding of the music. In Norwegian and Scandinavian musical life, the ensemble will present itself as a supplier of first-rate chamber music.
The ensemble wishes to abandon the traditional niche of chamber music for winds by combining interpretation and a closeness to the audience by focusing on presentation. The ensemble aims to perform several productions each year, both in Norway and abroad as well as to record several CDs of both old and newly-composed music.
Look forward to exciting experiences with us! We promise uncompromising quality and wonderful programs every time. Welcome!
welcome to one of scandinavia's most prominent chamber ensembles!
